Duties and responsibilities:

Clinical laboratory specialists include both clinical laboratory technicians and clinical technologists. These professions are also refeered to as medical labritory technicians or medical technologists.

Both technicians and technologist perform laboratory work to identify, diagnose, and treat diseases.

Clinical labrortory technicians use microscopices, laboratory equipment, chemicals and computers to perform labritory procedures. they also collect blood specimens and procedures. They also collect blood specimens and prepare culture media. They conduct tests and prepare reports for clinical technologists or physicaians.

Most states require that Chiropractors pass a certification examination before being granted a license to practice.

Chiropractors treat patients by manually adjusting parts of the human body, especially the spine. Chiropractors and their patients believe that problems with bone and nerve alignment can cause illness and problems in other parts of the body, a view not widely accepted allopathic physicians and other traditional medical practitioners.

Chiropractors manipulate their patient’s spinal columns for treatment. They may prescribe specific diets or exercises, but not drugs. Chiropractors cannot perform surgery.

Most chiropractors establish a private practice and some provide home treatments. In clinics or form group partnerships in clinics or chiropractic hospitals.

Average salary $30,000- $100,000

Duties and responsibilities:

Biomedical equipment technicians inspect, maintain, and repair different types of medical equipment used to diagnose and treat disease. They preform safety checks and train practitioners to safety operate equipment. Biomedical equipment technology has been one of the fastest growing medical career fields in recent years.

Average salary: $20,000-$38,000

Educational requirements:

Students should take challenging science, math, and electronics courses in high school.

Follow high school, biomedical equipment technicians complete one to three years of course work in biomedical equipment technology, medical-electronics, or biomedical-engineering. Most programs lead to certification and/or associate degrees. Some employers will hire electronics technicians and provide on the job biomedical technology training.
